Magnolia Down Under Challenge

Another challenge again using one of my lovely Magnolia stamps. This Tilda is from the Christmas collection - really really like this Tilda and although a christmasy type one I will definitely use her again for some birthday cards. Perfect for the Magnolia Down Under - use a stamp for a different purpose.

I dont know the name of the paper with cherries on it oops! think I've had it a while, some red gingham paper bought from The Hobby House, some white netting ribbon, my Martha Stewart Doily punch, a little red rose and a star pin. This time Tilda was coloured in with my Distress Inks (which are my fave and can't wait to get my hands on the new range) and Diamond Stickles were added to the wings and star.



Well thats definitely it for tonight - just need to finish off my Lets Get Shabby frame and then I'm up-to-date with everything I wanted to get done. TTFN and thanks for looking x

A Spoonful Of Sugar Challenge - Hearts

Yet another challenge I have decided to have a go at - A Spoonful of Sugar. This challenge was all about seeing hearts on your cards.

I used one of my new Bildmalarna stamps - Tossa Hearts - again from the selection hubby bought me for Christmas, (yes he bought me loads of stamps), some lovely Basic Grey papers Sugared, and some flowers from a huge stash I got from Wild Orchid Crafts, a couple of leaf punches and a heart punch. Tossa was coloured in using polychromos pencils.

Friday Sketchers Challenge 84

This is my card for the challenge site Friday Sketchers . The challenge was to follow a sketch set by Claudia.

I used one of my new Magnolia stamps - Travelling Tilda - hubby bought me for Christmas, some gorgeous BO BUNNY papers from Running With Scissors, my fave Martha Stewart Doily punch, white pearls coloured with a burnt orange copic pen and a piece of dotted orange ribbon. Tilda was coloured in using my new polychromos pencils (getting the hang of them now I think).



I quite enjoy following sketches - don't seem to FAFF about as much ;o). TTFN x

Just a quick post showing a couple of cards using my polychromos pencils. Photos are a bit wishy washy I'm afraid but by the time I get home from work any daylight has disappeared!

and this is of course Tilda - don't think there is any of these stamps I don't like or not want!!!!! Quite like this card even though there is hardly any embellishments on it.

A Paper Maniac Card Challenge

Can't quite believe that I haven't blogged in well over a month wow!! Happy New Year to you all. Hope everyone had a lovely festive Christmas and New Year.

Well one of my New Year resolutions was to try and participate in some challenges - just for fun and to try and up my confidence a little. Was blog-hopping for quite some time last night (as you do!!!) and came across this challenge site Paper Maniac. Their first challenge of the year was to follow a sketch - liked it so thought I would have a go at entering. I've used a stamp called Sitting Annie which I got for Christmas along with a fab tin of Polychromos Pencils, Sansador, Bristol Board and some paper stumps (thanks to my lovely hubby who must have listened to Santa!!!).

Still practising the colouring but the bristol board is so smooth!!!! Love it. Cut the image out by hand and added it to a small oval scalloped nestability and added this one to a larger one. Added some white lace and red velvet ribbon, a few roses and here it is (must admit to rotating the sketch but think its ok to do that).




Just one more thing to say - got a lovely honourable mention for my Victorian Cone on the Lets Get Shabby Challenge - dont think I can mention the word Tussie Mussie without smiling) TTFN xx

Little handmade boxes

Made these little boxes for our little grandchildren for christmas - all filled with pink smarties (and yes - did pinch a few from each box but only to even them out)!!!! The Tilda image is new from the Winter 2009 collection and coloured in with distresssed ink and the christmas paper is from The Hobby House. Working on a few more late christmas orders so ... TTFN

Shabby Challenge Number 6 'Christmas'

Taken a while to do my shabby piece - its been put together and dismantled so many times I'm surprised its still sticking together!! It was all about Christmas so I wanted to use in some way - Angels. Anyway, I finished it last night and when I shouted down to my hubby 'Would you like to see my Tussie Mussie' you just know he's got the wrong end of the stick when he shouts back 'HELL YES' and he's bounding up the stairs like a bat out of hell!!! (Thanks Tracey but I'll stick to calling it a Victorian Cone in future).







The cardboard wings were from Running with Scissors and were painted with white gesso. I then added some gold metallic paint to bring out the raised areas and a white feather was added behind each wing for a wispy look. I added bits of lace, ribbon and white pearls to the outside of the cone and just added a strip of white bobbly ribbon to the inside. I have a lovely stamp with the sentiment 'To hear the angels whisper you must listen with your heart' so I stamped this on to frosted shrink plastic and blasted it with the heat gun and added this to the cone point. I found a lovely image of an angel and printed this out and stuck it on a gold card (scalloped nestabilities). It was originally filled with more than 3 Ferrero Roches but ......... I ate the rest!!

Well thats it for now - currently playing with my new Magnolia stamps which arrived last night - theres even a piano stamp this time!!! TTFN
