Friday Sketchers - Sketch

Another challenge I've met!!! Wahayyyyyy :O) and 2 posts in one day wow!!!

This card is for the Friday Sketchers - to follow a sketch by Roberta of Prarie Fairies.

For this card I've used K&Co Madeline papers - bought these last year from Running with Scissors and probably my fave papers of all. All of the papers were distressed with a pair of scissors and inked with Rangers Walnut Stain. Again the Martha Steward Doily punch was used on every bit of paper!!!, used my nestabilities for the image and sentiment. Tilda was coloured in with my faves - Distress Inks!!!

And here it is...

Well best get on with the lunch - TTFN and thanks for looking xx

Lili of the Valley card challenge - Valentine

Well here goes my first post of today - this card is for the weekly challenge site Lili of the Valley and the theme is Valentine. Yesterday felt shocking so nothing was done - not even housework but I started to liven up just before midnight and so decided to get stuck in. You didn't need to use a Lily of the Valley stamp for this so I used this lovely digital stamp from Mo Manning - 'Jack and Ginger'. Think this stamp is really cute and with the word stamp I used - think the card is quite sentimental :O).

The papers are from a Papermanina Sunshine Paper Pack which were distressed with a pair of scissors and inked with Rangers Walnut Stain. Again used my Martha Stewart Doily punch, added a lovely piece of lace and some black crystals were added in the corner of the card in the shape of a heart. Jack and Ginger were coloured with Polychromos Pencils and here it is.....

Just another card challenge to add and then I can finish off my Just Magnolia Easter basket I started this morning - only problem is once this one is finished I will have to make 2 more!!! TTFN xx

Friday Sketch Challenge with a bit of sewing!!!

Wow this is a first - getting a card finished days before the challenge finishes and blogging it too!!!!

This card is for the Friday Sketchers challenge site - theme was to follow a sketch supplied by Jeanette.

I have used a Tilda from the YUMMY collection - a very nice one to colour in with distress inks. The paper I've used is Just Magnolia paper! Would you believe I've even used my sewing machine on this card - running short of double-sided tape, knew I wouldn't have time to shop yesterday so thought ... use the sewing machine!!!! Granted I've just used it round the edges for this card but now its all set up and ready to go - no excuses really for not using it more. I've distressed the paper edges with a pair of scissors, inked it with Vintage Photo, yet again used the Martha Stewart Doily punch, glimmer misted some cream flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, added a stamped sentiment and here it is ......

Quite a simple card really but fits the challenge just nicely I think. TTFN XX

Card Challenges again but only just!!!!!!

I made this card at the beginning of the week and only just this minute got round to photographing and blogging it!! Getting rubbish at getting things done these days!.

This card I'm entering it for 2 challenges: Sketch Saturday which was to follow a sketch and Hanna and Friends which was a easel card.

This is the side view...

Tilda was coloured in with distress inks, all the gorgeous paper is by Bo Bunny, my fave Martha Stewart Doily punch was used everywhere!! and my oval scalloped nestabilities were used to frame Tilda and also for the personal message.

Just received my new Magnolia papers that I ordered - they are very scrummy!!! Guess I'll be in my little craft room tonight!!! TTFN x

Romantic Tilda - couple of card challenges

Tilda had hardly been laid on my doormat for several minutes before she was snatched up, inked up and coloured with distress ink- been after this lovely stamp for absolutely ages. Liked a couple of the themes out there for card challenges so I'm entering the card for a couple of my fave sites:- Magnolia Down Under (theme: love, hearts, romance etc) and Friday Sketchers (a lovely sketch to follow).

I've used some gorgeous left over Melissa Frances paper that I've had for ages but its one of those papers that you just want to use for best- all distressed with scissors and then inked with Vintage Photo. I've used my fave Martha Stewart punch Doily and also a new Martha Stewart Deep Heart Border punch. Tilda was coloured in with distress inks and the flowers from Orchid Crafts were just lightly inked around the edge. Don't think you can see the Stickles used on Tildas headband, lace and also on the banner but it's there! :O) A pearl was added in each corner and here it is....

Just received my Magnolia Ink Magazine filled with fantastic Tilda creations so off to read it with a nice cuppa and a couple of Bourbon biccies - MMMMmmm.. TTFN xx

Just before I go just had to say GOT AN HONORABLE MENTION with my Lets Get Shabby piece Bikini card!!!!! Wahayyyyyy - chuffed to bits!! Cool eh!!! xxxx

Lets Get Shabby - Summer (aka Doris Day meets Baywatch)

As soon as the challenge was set for Lets Get Shabby with the theme SUMMER I had a few ideas and yep - none of the ideas I came up with have been entered for this challenge. I was going to decorate a box beach hut style, then I was going to decorate a frame beach hut style with a bunting hanging on it with 'Wish you were here' with some vintage images of bathing beauties stuck on it but I ruined that by adding yellow paint over blue paint and coming up with a real naff green DOH!!! So in a hurry to enter the challenge before it was too late I sat down last night and made a .... card. But not just any normal card - a bikini card!! When I showed hubby it and asked him what he thought he said 'OOoooh Doris Day meets Baywatch'!!!!!

So here it is - the front ....

and the back.

I used red gingham paper and crumpled it up and distressed the edges with a pair of scissors and inked it with Vintage Photo. Added 2 layers of lace to the bikini back and finished it off with blue ribbon. The front was the same. The little starfish was white so I just coloured that in a sandy colour copic pen and added it to some thick thread. To keep with the colour scheme of the challenge I added a orange button to the front and a green button to the back.

Disappointed that I've rushed it and again not sure if its shabby or not but this is one challenge site I enjoy and look forward to entering each month. The Design Team (a very talented bunch) always leave nice comments no matter what I submit for the challenges which makes it well worthwhile in my opinion. Well thats it for tonight TTFN xx

(Just had a thought - if I hadn't shown it to hubby I could have given it to him as a Valentines card - he's always wanted to see me in a bikini - well this is as close as hes gonna get to that I can tell you!!!)

Quixotic Challenge - Sketch

As you can probably tell I got quite an handful of new stamps for Christmas - and I've used this one for the Quixotic Challenges site. The challenge this Wednesday was to follow a sketch (getting very good at following them now).

This is a Lily of the Valley stamp coloured with polychromos pencils. The papers are some I've had for quite some time now - Sugared by Basic Grey and all have been distressed with a pair of scissors and inked with Rangers Vintage Photo. The lace round the edge of the image is just gorgeous and came as a pressie from my good friend Sue (love this very much - just the right size for framing), my fave doily punch and some flowers that I got from Wild Orchid Crafts and here it is...

The colours are a bit wishywashy but considered the photo was taken just after Emmerdale don't think its come out too bad. Well think a nice bottle of wine is called for - can't believe I've just met all the challenges I wanted to join in with .. well just the shabby challenge and that is very nearly done (I changed it AGAIN!!!) TTFN xx
