Tag Card with envelope & a little 'pink' wall hanging

I dont know, just dont seem to have the time to play let alone blog these days but today was different!!!!! Had the whole afternoon off so I took full advantage and played!!! Started off by making a tag card in a sleeve - the sleeve took quite a while to do as I didn't want to have any seams showing. After inking the edges of the sleeve I decorated it with some K&Co paper which I distressed and again inked, stamped the quote on white card and then used my nestabilties in the cuttlebug to create the flourish shapes. The tag was simple - used a chipboard tag as a template, stamped around the edges with a swirl stamp, a thank you stamped onto white card and the nestabilities were used again to create the shapes. And this is it.....

Then still some more time before Steve came home to make this little wall hanging. These mother and child images were from the Crafty Individuals People & Places pad - lots of lovely images and a real bargain at £3.99. I used a large heart punch to cut out some white mulberry paper, cut round the images, stuck them on the heart and just tore some white mulberry paper to create a feathered effect. A little bit of gold paper was added to each of the hearts, and then they were mounted on some pink paper (again K&Co), edged with gold embossing powder and then matted onto white card. My new Crafty Individual stamp was used for the words and then just a gold rivet was added. The main board was created in the same way with the words 'daughter' from the cuttlebug, 'is a gift of' was printed off the pc and Love was some letters I got from Harrogate earlier this year. Added ribbon to each of the pieces and voila.....

Its very pink I know but I like my pinks!!!! Hopefully I will get more time to play again - have some new Crafty Individuals slide mounts (thanks Sue) - have some ideas for these. BFN x

Vintage style Memo book & Holder

Took the day off today since I had to see hubby off quite early (away on business for 2 days) - so after making sure all the housework was done, washing out on the line I toddled off to Running With Scissors with some birthday money I got early. Bought 10 bottles of dabbers, some MORE paper and a lovely Crafty Individual image pad. Was really chuffed with this. After making another scrapbook page of Steve ( want to show him first before I blog it), I made this little memo book and holder. Everso simple to make - had to tweak the holder a few times before I was happy with the size. There is a tutorial for this but will have to edit this post later tomorrow with the link as its a favourite on my work pc and although I didn't have the instructions to hand it was pretty straightforward.

All you need is cardboard, cardstock, paper and embellishments and believe me I have plenty of those. The lace is from Running with Scissors and at 99p a metre an absolute bargain - it really is lovely and probably one of the nicest lace I have in my stash. Well here is the memo holder and notebook....

... and this photie shows the little memo book and the memo holder - quite sweet I think as when you flip open the book the post-its are in the shape of a heart.

Well thats it for now - off to watch the first Harry Potter film with Viki AGAIN!

Orange Scrapbook layout of my hubby

Before I start I would like to say that hubby does know that I have scrapbooked this particular photie of him!!! Not exactly the most flattering of poses but hey! thats Steve for you.

Reading the latest issue of Scrapbook Inspirations one of the challenges to submit is a orange layout. This photie I thought was perfect colourwise although the subject matter of hubby with MY bra on his head leaves a lot to be desired. But in his defence he was extremely hot. How my bra ended up on his head and why is beyond me but it was a perfect photo opportunity - so I took it! And here is the page. xx

Altered Lids - Lotstodo Challenge

After seeing what Sam created with a lid for the Lotstodo Challenge I decided to join in. These are the 2 I created for the swap.

This one I did first and called it Beauty - I just stamped the image on plain white paper, the background was made from card, run through the cuttlebug with the victorian folder. It was then inked with Vintage Phote distress ink, some lace was added as a border and then some pearls and a little rose for decoration.

This one is called Come fly with me and I put a lid inside a lid - the image was one I have on a cd, some music paper was added as the background, computer printed words, again some lace and pearls added and finished!

Just have to post them now and hope whoever receives them - likes them!

Found - a Crafty Individual Stamp I didnt know I had!!!

After moving my craft room downstairs and now back upstairs!! it gave me the chance to have a good clear out of all my stash collected over the last year. Wow have I bought some stuff!! But amongst it all was a Crafty Individual Angel stamp - never used!!! So after staring at it for ages I got a serviette, stamped the angel stamp on it and then cut it into the 4 squares, laid it on some card that I had inked with distress inks. My lovely friend Sue gave me some slide mounts to play with last weekend so I covered these with some pastel papers, stamped some swirls on them and then added some diamantes. I then folded a 12x12 square of grey core card into 3, stamped the same swirls on it and again covered it with MORE diamantes, added some lace trim to each side and then mounted it onto some black card. Had a go at Serendipty (tutorial by Sue-PaperParadise) and punched out some butterflies and here it is. The Serendipity technique is really good - even hubby was impressed with how it came out. Forgot how good it was to just play with materials - been concentrating too much on Copics!!! But more importantly Sue invited me into her craft room and I got inspired just looking at all her recent creations!

Made a couple of cards at the beginning of the week - this card was made using paper from the porcelain range, one of my favourite stamps and some flowers and....

a card using my favourite Sarah Kay stamp coloured with copics (and not a hint of pink in this one Sam). Well thats it for now. x
