Saturated Canary Challenge 9 - Punches and/or Diecuts

These beautiful digi stamps by Krista Smith are just so addictive and you can see why - they are just sooooo adorable!!!  So when challenge 9 popped up over at Saturated Canary challenge blog I just had to enter - digi stamps and die cuts/punches - my favourite!!!

Whilst tidying up my stash I mean craft room lol I came across lots of photo frames - this one being 12" square - decided it was just perfect for decorating for the challenge.

I have enlarged Fashionista to 23cms and coloured her in with my new Spectrum Noirs :O).  I then added lots of leaves and flowers from punches and diecuts, a few diecut butterflies, my favourite stamp There is a garden..., a photo of my DG's and here it is.....

I never properly got the hang of Copics yet the blending with Spectrum Noirs just seem much easier (maybe I have more patience lol)

Right, best get it on the challenge site before the time runs out.

Stampotique - Pocket calendar

Over at the Stampotique challenge blog the challenge is to make a pocket / purse calendar.  Now this was fun!!

Played around with Dylusions inks and paints on some old book paper, did some splattering and scraping, (tried not to think about the mess), coloured in Smumanha (who has been at the top of my christmas list from day 1) using Ranger Distress Inks and lots of Stickles, added some bandage, some Kaisercraft bubbles, a Dylusion quote, 3 little charms and here it is.......

Saturated Canary DT call

So now to the second post of today!!  Krista Smith, designer of those beautiful digi girls over at Saturated Canary Challenge blog is having a DT call for guest spots - exciting!!!

I decided to use Nevaeh and I have coloured her with Polychromos pencils. I have also added Glossy Accents to her eyes, lips, belt and shoes (doesn't actually show up in the photo).  The designer paper is from a 6 x 6 pad Isabelle.  I have used various punches by Martha Stewart, a piece of gauze bandage and a few flowers and pearls that I have had in my stash for ages and here it is...

Clean and SImple over at Saturated Canary Challenge

Krista Smith designs the most amazing beautiful girl images (and I have to admit I have at least 6 of them)!!!  So it was time to join in with the latest challenge over at Saturated Canary Challenge which is is 'clean and simple' - don't think I have ever done a clean and simple card EVER!!!  :O)

And here it is...

This is Whispy the fairy coloured in with Polychromos pencils, for her wings I added Stickles.  The sentiment is by Kaisercraft.  And that's it - no flowers or ribbon or designer paper, just a few score lines!!!

Krista Smith is also adding to her Design Team with guest spots so another card very shortly!!

Joining in with Kate Cranes 366 art calendar

As you know from previous posts, I have been 'trying' to have a go at mixed media backgrounds and failing dismally.  Kate Cranes DVDs have been played over and over again but as soon as I look at a page to start it - my mind just becomes blank!  So this morning I didnt even think about it, (if the worse came to the worse I could always tear out the pages and start again :O) so I prepped the pages with gesso, waited patiently for them to dry then spritzed them with water. I swirled Spun Sugar and Peeled Paint distress stains all over the page, closed the pages and pressed them together, opened the pages and then scraped on some white paint with a credit card, spritzed Dylusions Garnet Ink spray over some Prima masks, and VOILA - a page that I quite liked.  So whilst watching the chickens destroy the garden even more today I cut up paper squares, inked them with Ranger Vintage Photo, stuck them down, added some Dylusion toadstools and inked up and painted Doolally Doris.  And here it is - all ready to link up to The Kathryn Wheel.

To say I am chuffed with myself is an understatement - my first 2 pages in my sketch book just about completed.  Honestly,  I can't stop opening my A4 sketch journal up and looking at it lol.

Once upon a sketch

It's been bliss just being able to chill out and do whatever we like without having to worry about work!!  I've spent the last day or so spending lots of time on scrapbooking - all I've done is 2 layouts but just being able to play without having to watch the clock has been so therapeutic!

Here is my take on a fantastic sketch over at Sketchy Thursdays.  Daisy our little GD was only to happy to pose in her santa hat - such a natural bless her lol!!

Still using papers from my limited edition kit by My Creative Scrapbook, distressed and inked with Vintage Photo, added some Prima poinsettas, some diecuts by Memory Box, pieces of bandage which were distressed along the edge to create a fluffy look and a diamante flourish - thats it!

Right off to finish my calendar page and if its any good show it off to Kate Crane :O)
