Whiff of Joy Sketch Challenge

I've had this stamp for a couple of weeks now and not even used it until today!!! So it was inked up and coloured with distress inks for the current Whiff of Joy challenge which was to follow a sketch by Bev. I've used some K&Co papers from a little 6x6 pad I got for Christmas and a couple of star brads from my ever increasing stash. His tie was dotted with a white gel pen to match one of the papers used. Not a hint of my MS Doily punch or a flower!!! And here it is....

Well thats it for today - back to work tomorrow :O(

A Scrapbook page of 'Joshua in a peapod' and Suzi Blu

From Laryngitus to a Bronchial infection - tut - give me a ciggie!!! Not really - been over 6 months now so no going back there!

This is a scrapbook page of Faye & Ash's adorable son and Sue & Paul treasured grandson - Joshua Jamie. I started doing this page last year and his approaching Christening gave me the push I needed to get it finished. I enjoyed the making of the pod - not done anything like this for ages and the photo on Sue's blog of him laid in the scales being weighed was perfect. Added some flowers and punched butterflies and the quirky lettering was from a shop in Harrogate when I visited Art from the Heart/ Tim Holtz :O) I bought one of those deep scrapbook frames from The Range for it to go inside - and here it is.

A few weeks ago Sue, Paul, Kate, Mattie, Steve and myself were having tea at the Cricks and as usual us ladies got to talking about crafting, scrapbooking, cards etc when Sue started talking about Suzi Blu and Les Petite Dolls. Unbeknown to us Paul and Steve were listening in and between them enrolled Sue and I on the course as a Valentine Days present!!! In between then and Valentines Day, Tracey from Running with Scissors had enrolled on the course and had blogged some really fantastic drawings of her dolls - just loved the whole look. So when Steve presented me with my logon and password on Valentine Day I was so very chuffed. How sweet is that - even forgave the fact he didn't get me a card!

I know Sue has been really busy with the Christening and Ginas and Fayes approaching weddings and hasnt had much time to study, but me - well I'm just drawing all the time! Ok so I'm not very good at them but I love them. Here is just a couple of faces that I've done - and then the last one is just a play piece really - they are all really clean and flat but cant wait to play with the collaging. Just bought some Glazing liquid (takes me back when I did a course on Paint Effects at college and was working with Scumble Glaze, oils, acrylics etc)

Just a close up of the shading on the face..

Just cut a dress out of scrap paper and stuck one of my practise heads on it - none of it is stuck down though - as I say still playing :O)

Well thats it for now - off to doodle some more and maybe play with some collage techniques. Thanks for looking and TTFN XX

Chronic Laryngitus so craft room here I come!!!

I never thought that a cold could turn into Chronic Laryngitus but thats what it turned into. Completely lost my voice!! Neck hurt to move, sore throat from coughing etc. Not even a trip to The Range on Valentines Day could help. Had to write down notes to the doctor who advised me not to talk for 48 hours (which made the hubby smile) and I was to stay at home and keep warm (that made me smile) so craft room here I come!!!! Except didnt quite turn out like that - the antibiotics made me feel yukk to be honest so spent most of yesterday laid out on the sofa.

I did finish the card off today for Caardvark but today is too late - didn't realise it ended last night, thought I had until the weekend!

Anyway these are the cards I've been working on today. Here is the wedding card I made....

The image is one I found on the internet (I can surf for hours searching for images), paper is from the Tilda range which was distressed and inked with Walnut Stain. All the flowers are from Craft Orchids, my fave Doily punch was used as always and my new scalloped heart punch from Running with Scissors and a new butterfly punch which I got for Christmas.

I also received my Whiff of Joy City Girls stamps so once secured on Easi-mount made these 3 cards. I've used Tilda paper for the 2 red cards but the pink paper is from Bo Bunny where the selection in Running With Scissors is fab! The images were coloured in with Distress Inks and here they are.....

Will finish off my project for the Just Magnolia challenge tonight as I expect I will be back at work tomorrow - I can croak now and be heard!

TTFN and thanks for looking xx

Just Magnolia - Easter Basket

The theme for the Just Magnolia challenge site this week is an Easter Basket - great tutorial to follow but although I did make one with the paper braiding I didn't like the paper I used so made my own 'box come basket' template.

The sitting Tilda's were coloured in with polychromos pencils and the laid down Tilda's were distress inked. The Bunny and the Easter stamp were a £1 each!!! that I found in a bargain bucket. The lovely lilac paper was from Running With Scissors, distressed and then inked with Rangers Walnut Stain. Used again my Martha Stewart Doily punch on some plain white paper and cut to fit each side of the basket. Added some cute little yellow ribbons onto each corner, punched some leaves and flowers out of coloured cardstock and then just filled with 4 Kinder Surprise Eggs. Didn't think to take a photo of the Happy Easter label on the top of the handle!!! but if I get a chance will take it later. And here it is.....

... and the other side...

Well that's one made for Eli Mae - now just another 2 to make for Daisy Mae and Heidi Mae (grandkiddies).

Well thats probably the last post for the next couple of days - have to get stuck into decorating the dining room!!! Thanks for looking and TTFN xx

Friday Sketchers - Sketch

Another challenge I've met!!! Wahayyyyyy :O) and 2 posts in one day wow!!!

This card is for the Friday Sketchers - to follow a sketch by Roberta of Prarie Fairies.

For this card I've used K&Co Madeline papers - bought these last year from Running with Scissors and probably my fave papers of all. All of the papers were distressed with a pair of scissors and inked with Rangers Walnut Stain. Again the Martha Steward Doily punch was used on every bit of paper!!!, used my nestabilities for the image and sentiment. Tilda was coloured in with my faves - Distress Inks!!!

And here it is...

Well best get on with the lunch - TTFN and thanks for looking xx

Lili of the Valley card challenge - Valentine

Well here goes my first post of today - this card is for the weekly challenge site Lili of the Valley and the theme is Valentine. Yesterday felt shocking so nothing was done - not even housework but I started to liven up just before midnight and so decided to get stuck in. You didn't need to use a Lily of the Valley stamp for this so I used this lovely digital stamp from Mo Manning - 'Jack and Ginger'. Think this stamp is really cute and with the word stamp I used - think the card is quite sentimental :O).

The papers are from a Papermanina Sunshine Paper Pack which were distressed with a pair of scissors and inked with Rangers Walnut Stain. Again used my Martha Stewart Doily punch, added a lovely piece of lace and some black crystals were added in the corner of the card in the shape of a heart. Jack and Ginger were coloured with Polychromos Pencils and here it is.....

Just another card challenge to add and then I can finish off my Just Magnolia Easter basket I started this morning - only problem is once this one is finished I will have to make 2 more!!! TTFN xx
