Let's Get Shabby are now on challenge 4 - use something vintage in the sketch design. I must say - ALL the DT designs are absolutely fantastic which does inspire you to have a go. I don't have any authentic vintage photographs but I do have a box of pearl necklaces that I bought yonks ago from a secondhand shop in Mablethorpe so after raiding it I decided to use one of the old clip-on EARRINGS!!!
Again I've used K&Co papers - cut a large circle (template was a dinner plate) and distressed the edges. Stamped a swirled image all around the edge randomly, inked around the edge and then added a few pale pink pearls to the swirls. The photo was printed on linen card rather than photo paper as I like the faded lined look you get. A small white doily was used behind the photo and teared paper that co-ordinated with the main background, I made a little bouquet of mixed artificial roses from Boyes, made a chiffon bow and added the clip-on earring to the knot. The words were computer-generated except for ROSE which was the cuttlebug Olivia alphabet.
And here it is. Thoroughly enjoyed this challenge again and can't wait for the next on e :O) TTFN xx

Aw my gosh - this is beautiful!!! :D Very delicate & tender, love the colors!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Polly. Love the swirly edges and addition of the lace and ribbon. Plus the spray of flowers is so different to individual blooms in a cluster. Not started mine yet, but will start it after our weekend away. See you soon.
