Running with Scissors now stocks the lovely range of Copic Ciao markers - just had to buy a few to try as I've been checking them out for quite a while now. This is my first attempt at colouring in an image once I had got the correct ink - Memento Tuxedo black or Adirondack Black is the ink to use with copic markers and both very hard to get hold of!!! Most stockists on the net were sold out but I managed to get hold of a couple of the little cats eye ink pads. So armed with the correct ink I started colouring in the image. Must admit they are a little difficult to work with so more practise is needed but hey - thats what its all about.

Looks like you have got the markers off to a 'T', but then everything you put your hand to is perfect, except of course the jacket spud lol!!!!!!!Good point about the staz on not being compatible with copics. I expect most people would think staz on to be the right thing to use. Memento inks should see an increase in sales thanks to you lol!
ReplyDeleteSee you tonight.

Gosh Polly this is so pretty!! How did you know which colours to limit yourself to?
ReplyDeleteYou have made a great choice with these as it looks fabulous!!
Nice one on getting hold of the proper ink! xxx
Hi Polly
ReplyDeleteyour card is gorgeous looks like you don't need any practice with the copics.
hugs kaylou xoxo
Nice to see you back blogging missed you. Lovely clarification of the correct ink to use, I had used my stazone and noted the colour run. Also noted the difference in the colours than what appears on the paper, found a good blank template on the web to colour yourself and it is a much better idea.

Why can't you use staz on please? Does it have a reaction to the pens? Anyway Polly, fab colouring and shading.
ReplyDeleteHi Sam - Stazon is a solvent based ink as are the copic markers so as soon as the pens touch the ink it bleeds. Memento ink is dye based so doesnt react with the copic markers. You must try them Sam - we'll have an afternoon copic-ing :O)
