Our little grand-daughter Daisy

Popped to Louth on Saturday to see our 3 little grand-daughters who are all very lucky to live in the grounds of Thorp Hall, just behind Hubbards Hills. The scenery is just lovely - you could sit for hours in peaceful bliss. This is Daisy who has just turned 2 - should have been a boy as she is just so fearless and mischievous.

The layout for this photie was simple - gingham background paper, a small and medium daisy punch, leaf punch and the letters from Storybook. Added a oval of lemon pearls to highlight her cheeky face and here it is. I love it.

My Gorjuss stamp arrived!!!

My Gorjuss stamp arrived today - so it was time to play for an hour this afternoon. Used my copics again as I'm pretty much getting used to the way that they work - correct ink and paper helps! Just think it needs something else so off to raid my stash to see what I can add. Kate (Downrightcrafty) has bought some Manga paper to use with her copics so can't wait to see how she has got on with using it.

Wonder how Sue and Sam have got on at their Beeswax class at Art from the Heart. So wanted to go but work didnt allow so hopefully the next class! Have a great weekend x

Magnolia Challenge 12 - Flutterbye Butterfly

Having seen Sues gorgeous slide card on her blog here I was inspired to have a go. I'm sure I've made it a lot more complicated than what it really is (took 2 hours)!!! but it was good fun to see the end result. Magnolia is coloured with copic markers, a lovely Martha Stewart butterfly punch was used for the little buterflies in card and paper, a flower punch and a quote stamp 'Childhood' was used for the centre panel.

This is the card laid flat

This is the card once the tag has been pulled

Off to play again - see you soon.

Trial card with copic markers

Running with Scissors now stocks the lovely range of Copic Ciao markers - just had to buy a few to try as I've been checking them out for quite a while now. This is my first attempt at colouring in an image once I had got the correct ink - Memento Tuxedo black or Adirondack Black is the ink to use with copic markers and both very hard to get hold of!!! Most stockists on the net were sold out but I managed to get hold of a couple of the little cats eye ink pads. So armed with the correct ink I started colouring in the image. Must admit they are a little difficult to work with so more practise is needed but hey - thats what its all about.

Scrapbook page - Our Girls

Saturday was a demonstration day at Running With Scissors with Sharon Bramhill - wow can she whip up some cards quick - takes me ages to make just ONE card!!! However, Tracey was showcasing the new range of K & Co papers - Raspberry Ripple. Gorgeous, gorgeous papers - couldn't resist AGAIN!!!

Came home and started straightaway scrapping with the new papers. This page came so easy to me - knew exactly what I wanted to do with them - wanted the page to resemble a open book. I sewed, gutted, inked, distressed and even crackled the photos (well the hubby did - I was far too busy).

And this is it! Becki is the blonde, Viki is the brunette - and are 'Our Girls'

Sooo can't wait to make another page like this. Hope you like it

Forgot to say - came in the top 3 of the Magnolia Down Under Challenge

Forgot to say - although I didn't win - I did come in the top 3 of the Magnolia Down Under Challenge Cupcake - hence the lovely blinkie blinking on the side bar!! Really chuffed!

Third and last post of the evening - Wheres my Tea & Scone

Went out one Sunday afternoon for a little drive out and ended up in the Windmill Tea Gardens at Alford, just outside of Louth. We sat in the gardens after ordering Afternoon Cream Tea for what seemed like AGES!!! Steve was convinced they were baking the scones and milking the cow! Considering he was hungry he was quite cheerful on these photies. So couldn't let this photo opportunity pass by I created this layout for him. The afternoon tea and scones were lovely when they eventually arrived.

P.S Sue - stopped rocking now but only just! I keep having flashbacks wink wink

Second post of the evening - Fun in the leaves

This is my little nephew Josh. During the last school holidays we went to Normandy Hall for the afternoon. The ground was covered in leaves so we piled them all up and took this perfect shot of him. After that we had a great leaf fight, funny how the pile he threw at me always contained a bloody big twig! ! !

I couldn't let this photo of him just sit on my PC so created this scrapbook page.
The leaves were made from a Cuttlebug die, inked and then curled. The letters were cut on the Cricut using the 'Jasmine' alphabet. I hardly ever use the Cricut machine but going to try a bit harder with it I think.

First Blog of the evening - A Puzzle piece

Well just one more piece left and then I'll be on the hunt to see if I can find anymore of these fab sized jigsaw pieces. This one I covered in a pink birdcage paper which I inked with "Tattered Rose", distress ink, added a vintage photo of a young girl in a birdcage and added lots of lovely pink flowers and green leaves (used a leaf punch for these which were inked and curled). The sentiment "It is the beutiful bird that gets caged", is an old Chinese proverb. A bit of lace, ribbon and a dash of pearls and here it is.
