Let's get Shabby Challenge 18 - your favourite christmas carol

It's been such a long time since I joined in over at the Lets Get Shabby challenge site but this months challenge of incorporating your favourite christmas carol into your creation was just too good to miss.  So..... it was off to the local Spar shop for 24 matchboxes!!!  An handmade advent calendar was about to be created.

After stacking and sticking the matchboxes into groups of 3 I covered the top and bottom with Basic Grey Basic Whites patterned paper which I bought at Grimsby Crafts.  I added some corner flourishes by using Marianne die cuts (again bought from Grimsby Crafts) to the top of the calendar and added some white flowers.  Gold Swarvoski pearls were used to create drawer handles and the vintage angel images are available from Marie Freebies.  I used my late moms favourite carol as my inspiration for my calendar - Hark! The herald angels sing - the songsheet printed onto white cardstock and the Magnolia tag die used.  And here it is......

A Christening card for Harriet Eva

A friend from work asked me to make a 'pretty' christening card for her grand-daughter Harriet Eva - as soon as she mentioned christening I knew the kind of card I had in mind.  This dress template is available on the Stampington site under templates and is really easy to cut out and use.  I added some victorian style wedding lace that I bought at The Shephards Purse in Whitby (a shop filled with lovely and gorgeous vintage knick knacks) to the embossed pinafore, a little piece of pink ribbon and more lace.  The little tag is from a Tilda Tag die and here it is.....

Untitled Scrapbook page

Struggling with a title for this layout but I'm sure one will come to me eventually :O).  I've scrapped little grandaughter Daisy again - just love this photo of her in the garden.

The main  paper is by Kaiser and the smaller papers are by Prima.  I have made the flowers out of cardstock, spritzed with water and scrunched up.  The edges of the paper have been spritzed with water for distressing and inked with Vintage Photo.  The leaves are Marianne Dies.  And here she is....

Lovin' my red wellies - Mirror

Decided to decorate an IKEA mirror that has been hoarded away since last year.  I used Webster paper from My Creative Scrapbook Limited Edition kit.  The large butterflies are from Marianne Dies ( very reasonably priced), the border around the mirror has been punched with my fave Martha Stewart Doily punch, yellow lace was added on top.  Daisy has been cut out and added to the frame with 3d dots to add a little depth and here it is.....

My Creative Scrapbook - October Challenge

I subscribed to My Creative Scrapbook for their yummy Limted Edition and since then I've really enjoyed scrapbooking.  They currently have a challenge running which is to follow a sketch - so this is my take on it.

This is my lovely lovely grand-daughter Daisy - she is the perfect model - will pose endlessly for me - a absolute darling!!!

The patterned paper is by Magenta - Dancing Buterfly - a paper I bought from Running with Scissors ages ago but knew one day it would be a perfect background!!!!  I have carefully cut out the butterfly wings leaving the body attached to the paper, inked the wings with Walnut Stain and stickled them with Rangers Diamond.   Then I placed the whole page on a piece of purple Bazzil, lifted the butterfly wings up so that it created a 3d effect.  Daisy adores Tilda stamps (I have to stamp them up for her so she can take them home to colour in) so I have included a couple of them as embellishments (both on watercolour paper and coloured with distress inks).  I have used my fave Martha Stewart Doily punch on the other contrasting papers, added pearls, a heart doily, diamantes and some lovely pink ribbon.  Thoroughly enjoyed myself :O)

Scrapbook page - Daisy

This is my little grand-daughter Daisy 2 days before her 4th birthday - she loves the camera and certainly isnt shy in front of it lol. I think she is soooo cute in these photos. Well, not much left from my limited edition september kit - might just be able to squeeze just one more small layout tonight from it!!!  How frugal am I??  the butterflies were punched from the prima packaging!!!!
