Cupcake Challenge - Flowers

Its been a while since I joined in with the challenges over at Cupcake Craft Challenge and now that I've finally finished my canvas I can join in with them.  Their theme this week is Flowers :O)

I started off with a blank canvas and sprayed and spritzed it with Dylusion Inks - London Blue, Roayl Blue and Cut Grass.  I cut out some cloud shapes from an old text book.  My little Cotton Candy girl was hand drawn and coloured with Spectrum Noir pens, dress and hair cut from paper from my stash and then topped with some lace and flower ribbon.  The flowers by Creative Expressions were stamped with Ranger Inks and cut out and everything was then stuck down on the canvas.  A swirly stamp was stamped over the background and here she is....

Stampotique Challenge - Eggplant Hues

Wahayyyyy its that time again!!!  The new challenge over at Stampotique Designers Challenge Blog is being hosted by the very talented Sarinda (who is also a glass artist) who has chosen the eggplant hues below.

I started off with a piece of white card, spritzed it with water, daubed some distress stains (Fired Brick, Walnut Stain and Scattered Straw) on my craft mat and pulled it through a few times to create the background.  I then stamped Fabulous (8990) and highlighted it with white Gel Pen.  I stamped around the edges with Abstract Foliage (3031) , added some text from an old book.  Smile (6078) was coloured in with copic pens, cut out and added to the background.  A little TH crown was added, mounted the whole thing on black card, cream card and black card again and here it is.....

Why not pop over to Stampotique Designer's Challenge to see all the lovely designs the Design Team have created and join in with us. You could win one of two $30 gift certificate which is pulled from ALL the participants for the month of August. You can use ANY images too.

Stampotique Challenge - One layer card

Wahayyyy - its time for another challenge over at Stampotique Designers Challenge Blog and this week Gez is our hostess and she has chosen the theme...

ONE LAYER CARD  - One layer cards have always fascinated me, especially when masks etc are involved!
I'm more of a many layers sort of crafter and find these an easier option!
So this week, we want to see your talents shine making a one layer only card!

I love layers so this challenge was a little bit out of my comfort zone!!!  I stamped Picture Door (6146) in the centre of the card, then masked it and then stamped Picket Fence (6090) over it.  I then just inked up the window from Picture Door and stamped either side of the door to look like windows.  I coloured with Polychromos Pencils, added Glossy Accents to the windows, added some doodling around the edge, hand wrote New Home and here it is......

Stampotique Challenge - ALTER IT!!!!

Good Morning, Its my turn to host this weeks challenge over at Stampotique Designers Challenge and I have chosen

ALTER IT!!

Alter anything you like, we all have odd items lying around the house that are just crying out to be cheered up with a bit of altering such as unused CD’s , old boxes, photo frames you can even decorate the cover of an old book.

For this challenge I chose to alter an Ikea mirror given to me by my crafty chum Debbie.   I first applied a coat of black acrylic paint to the wooden frame of the mirror, whilst that was drying I sprayed a 12” piece of white card with a number of different Dylusion spray inks to build up a nice background.  Once this was dry I then stamped various Stampotique images onto it. This card was then cut into jagged shapes and arranged on the frame to create a mosaic style. Once I was happy with the layout the cut shapes were finally glued into place.  The idea is based on a mosaic mirror bessie Sue created a few years ago using broken pieices of lasagne (must admit to trying it once but the lasagne turned mouldy :O)  (turned out I didn't seal it first before applying the paint)!!  Anyway here is my mirror........

Remember each time you join the weekly challenge you have the opportunity to win one of two $30 gift certificates for Stampotique stamps.  Only one entry per person and you may use any stamps.

I really hope you will join in with this weeks challenge and can’t wait to see your ‘Altered Item’.  Please pop over to Stampotique Designers Challenge blog to see what my Design Teamies have created to inspire you.

Stampotique Designers Challenge - Sketch

Yeayyyy - My first posting as a Design Team member for Stampotique - nervous or what!!!! Eeks ;O)

It's Stampotique Designers Challenge time and this weeks theme is to follow a sketch designed by Kim.

I decided to rotate the sketch so it became landscape.  I used watercolour paper, spritzed it first with water then sprayed Dylusions London Blue and Cut Grass over it.  I stamped Carols Small Flower with Stazon Fushia Pink onto the left side, coloured Cabbage Rose in Polychromos pencils, cut her out and placed her just over the edge of the stamped flowers.  I then stamped the verse It was the sweetest, most mysterious-looking place....., layered it on black card then pink card and here it is....

I hope you will join in with the challenge and look forward to seeing your creations.

Don't forget we are now doing weekly challenges so you will have until Tuesday 14th August to play along for your chance to win.  All winners from the challenges from the month will have a chance to win, we will randomly draw 2 winners for a $30 gift certificate for Stampotique stamps.
