Stampotique Challenge - Ornaments

Todays challenge over at Stampotique Designers Challenge has been set by the very talented Maria who has chosen Ornaments.  Here is what Maria has to say about her challenge

'' Christmas is right around the corner. Are you ready for Santa? Create an ornament for your Christmas tree, the front door or for a special present. How do you like Christmas this year? Traditional or modern? Have fun creating and Happy Holidays.''

I decided to make a hanging ornament using a Cherry Lynn heart die.  I started off by sponging various distress inks over some white card, then stamping some Stampotique text stamps randomly over the card :- Shoot for the moon (7114) and World all her own (3035)  Splattered some black ink then inked over a stencil.  Then I cut out 5 hearts, folded them down the middle and glued them together.  I then stamped Large Tree Topper Angel (6157) on the same card, cut her out and attached her to the ornament with ribbon.  And here it is...

Its time again to join in with this weeks challenge over at Stampotique - this time the very talented Gez has chosen the theme SENTIMENT.  Here is what Gez has to say about her challenge:-

I love to add sentiments to my artwork whether I am cardmaking or art journaling. To me a simple sentiment can say it all. Stampotique Originals have a lovely selection of sentiments to suit all occasions and tastes and as you would expect from Stampotique some out of the norm sentiments too!  So, it's time to get creative and share your favourite sentiments with us.
Have fun!

Here is my creation for the theme - a little plaque using TH Baroque Die, Sizzix Wings, Cuttlebug embossing folder, rubon wax, some flowers from my stash and the Stampotique sentiment World all her own (3035)

Stampotique Challenge - Paint

Yeayyyyyy time again for a new challenge over at Stampotique - this weeks them has been set by the very talented Libby.  Here is what Libby has to say about her challenge:-

"Ever since I can remember I've been inspired by my Gramma Betty. She is an amazing artist. I grew up watching her paint sets for our local community theater group she co-founded, painting make-up onto the faces of the actors, painting beautiful paintings with her oils and painting gorgeous cheeseboxes with her acrylics. With a paintbrush in her hand, there's nothing she can't do!

I chose the theme for this week's challenge in honor of my amazing grandmother. She can paint with any medium, and so can you - acrylics, watercolors, daubers, whatever your little heart desires. Just use same sort of PAINT on your project this week!"

I decided to paint a plain door hanger that I have had in my stash for yonks!!  I used TH Paint dabbers to paint the background and used paint on the stamps too (remember to wash the paint off the stamps once finished).  I coloured Dweeze (6102) in copics, stamped Abstract Foliage (3031) around the edge in TH Paint Dabbers.  Painted through some sequin waste with dabbers, added the text Do I look like a freakin' people person (8987), a torn off sheet of text paper from an old book, added the black and white border and here it is......

Why not pop over to Stampotique Designers Challenge site and see what amazing creations my fellow Design Team have created.  Don't forget that each month 2 lucky people will win a $30 gift certificate to spend on Stampotique stamps!

Stampotique Challenge - Hanging / Home decoration

Wahayyy its that time again for another challenge over at Stampotique and this weeks theme of Hanging /Home decoration has been chosen by the very talented Samantha - here is what Samantha has to say..

"I'm a firm believer that everyone should enjoy art and the things we create shouldn't be hidden away in draws or boxes but shown and shared with everyone, and what better way than to embellish our homes than to make a decorative hanging using our Stampotique stamps? So your challenge for this week is to make a hanging decoration for your home, I can't wait to see your creations! The most important thing is to have fun!"

I decided to use Alcohol Inks and Acetate to make a window hanging using TH Baroque die and a similar Spellbinders shape.  I overlaid the alcohol inked acetate over some white glitter card to make the decoration POP but just couldnt seem to catch the glitter in ANY photo I took tut but it is there!!! (will have another try this afternoon from a different angle). I have used the quote Keep Calm (7305), a large crystal, some chain and here it is...

Stampotique Challenge - Backgrounds

Wahaaayyyyyyy time again for a new challenge over at Stampotique Designers Challenge and this weeks theme has been set by the very talented  Carol Fox .  Here is what Carol has challenged us all with:

"It's my turn to set the theme this week for the Stampotique Designer's Challenge. I love to use my rubber stamps for my backgrounds, so this week you are challenged to use your stamps for your backgrounds, as well as your main focal image.

What I love about using your stamps in this way is that you can get a truly original background as even you will never be able to get the same one again."

I decided to use another one of my new stamps Winter (6053) as the main character.  As for the bacground well... I started off with a piece of 6x4" cardstock.  With a bowl of water I dropped 3 different Alcohol Inks into it and carefully dipped in my cardstock and let it dry.  Then I sponged distress inks around the edges and through a number stencil and then stamped with various colours of Stazon with the following stamps:- Abstract Foliage (3031), Dear Elizabeth Script (7202), Splatter (3014) to add background.  Colour My World was computer generated and here it is ....

Creating backgrounds with lots of inks and stamps is so much fun so why not hop on over to the Stampotique Designer blog for more DT inspiration. You can use any stamps you have too.  When done, link up your piece to the Stampotique Designer blog and who knows, the 30$ gift certicificate for Stampotique stamps might be yours!

Stampotique Challenge - Scrap IT!!!

Wahayyyyy time again for another challenge over at Stampotique and this weeks theme has been set by the ultra talented Jo - Scrap It!!!!

This is what Jo has to say about her theme:

It's my turn to set the theme this week at Stampotique Designer's Challenge soI decided on something that I usually avoid- using photographs along sidestamping. No.... come back... don't panic, it's not as scary as it sounds! As a non-scrapper I too feel that fear that perhaps washes over so many when the word 'scrapping' is mentioned, but this challenge theme can incorporate your photographs in anyway possible either on a page, inside a journal, on a canvas, a mini book, an altered item...anything you wish, just as long as you are using stamping somewhere too. If you are a natural scrapper, this theme couldn't be better! And if you are not, make it work for you. Please take a look at the fantastic contributions from the team to see how diverse the artwork has turned out to be."

I love scrapbooking :O) and I have been waiting to use this lovely photo of my daughter for some time now.  The stampotique stamps I have used are Damask (5806)   Fabulous (8990)  and Jo's own designed stamp Leaf (3024).  I created the background by marking off 1.75" squares, stamping the damask stamp inside the square and then in between them - as easy as that :O).  I used a Martha Stewart round the edge punch to create a delicate frill to the page.  Jo's Leaf was stamped on green cardstock twice, cut out and crinkled up and added to some flowers.  I added a couple of white corner rub-ons to the page and a black diamate flourish and here it is........

Hope you will pop over to see what all the creative and talented design team have created - honestly they are all so different their pages will blow you away.

A Damask card

Had some time this afternoon to have a play in the craft room so out came my Stampotique Damask stamp (5806) and one of Marias new stamps for Stampotique which is Keep Calm ..(7305) and I made a card!!!!  Wowzers :O) - this doesnt happen very often :O)

I stamped the Damask stamp in Brown Stazon on some white card at 1.75" intervals and then in between them, distressed inked it all over with Old Paper and around the edges with Vintage Photo.  Lightly inked the Melissa Frances frame with Old Paper and Stormy Weather and stamped the sentiment also in Stormy Weather.  Added some cream Toile ribbon, lace, flowers and leaves and here it is....

I am adding this into the following challenges

The Ribbon Reel - Damsk pattern, lace and ribbon and a neutral colour palette

Stampotique Challenge - Weather

Wahayyyyyyy time again for a new challenge over at Stampotique Challenge blog and this weeks theme is Weather and has been set by the very talented Sue Davis:

Over here in England one of our main topics of conversation is the weather. We can have sun, rain, wind and snow all in the same day. So I'm challenging you to show me some weather - have fun!"

I decided to make a little wall hanging using one of my new Stampotique stamps Relaxin' - 6050.  I blended Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans, Cut Grass for the background, added some Mustard Seed in the corner and then blended Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed through a Dylusion mask to create rays of sunshine.   Spritzed with water and wiped off.  Relaxin was stamped onto the background and again on Neenah paper and coloured in with Spectrum Noir pens.  I then stamped and cut out Picket Fence - 6090, stamped Carols Small Flower - 9166 onto some already sprayed paper from my stash, stamped around the edges with Abstract Foliage - 3031, added a summer quote and here it is.......

''We all like to party! A sweet treat for your friends, family or co workers is always welcome! But the message is the most important. I challenge you to create a party/lunch favour. Could be any theme: halloween, christmas, birthday theme or just because. ''

I decided to make a little party bag (plenty of templates to choose from on Google) inked with the following Distress Inks - Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade.  Splattered some water on it, damped off with kitchen roll and splattered with some Dylusions Black Marble ink spray.  Both Smile (6078), Gussie up we're having a party (8815) and Carols Small Flower (9166) were stamped onto Neenah card.  Smile was coloured in with Spectrum Noir pens and the sentiment was cut was edged with black chalk.  A piece of torn text was added to the bottom of the bag, a pearl added to the centre of the flower, some bright pink ribbon was used to tie up the bag and here it is......

Cupcake Craft Challenge - Gold and Script

It's my third week as Guest Designer over at Cupcake Craft Challenge and their theme this week is Gold and Script.

This week I thought I would create a little wall hanging so I got some Manilla paper and used Distress inks in Mustard Seed and Orange Marmalade to create a background.  I then inked up Tim Holtz Papillon Script with Versaink and stamped onto the background, added some gold embossing powder and heated it up.  I then cut out a piece of hardboard and popped that through the Big Shot using Tiim Holtz Baroque diecut and then used the same die on the background and glued both together.  I painted a Melissa Frances frame with Orange Paint Dabbers and then highlighted the raised areas with gold rubon.  I glued behind this the sentiment 'Life is short do what you love'.  Added a flourish, flower and a little gold hanger and here it is......

Stampotique challenge - Mustard, Navy and Orange

Wahahhayyyyyyy its Stampotique Challenge time again - this weeks theme is a colour theme set by another very talented design team member - Jane. The colours - Mustard, Navy and Orange.

After a recent trip to Gainsborough I bought a few templates from House of Sandra and one of them was a shoe.  So out came my Claudine Helmuth Sticky Back Canvas and set to sprarying it with Dylusion Inks - Sweetened Orange, Lemon Zest and Pure Sunshine.  Once dry I then removed the sticky backing and placed the canvas on some orange card, cut round the template and started gluing together the pieces.   The back piece of the shoe was hand drawn as I wanted to create the look of an 'espadrille' (remember those???).  Orange and yellow buttons were stuck together to make the heel, some metal corners were bent slightly to cover the front toe.  A inner sole was cut freehand out of navy card.  Carols Flowers were stamped onto paper already spritzed with ink and cut out to form the flower.  A long length of ribbon was added to tie up the shoe and then it was mounted onto navy card.  I added some butterflies that I printed off on the computer, added the PAPILLON text and here it is...
