Chocolate Treat birthday card

This was the card I started to make last night - it was either make a card involving the chocolate bar or eat it!!! So with the words ' a minute on the lips, a lifetime on the hips' ringing in my ears - a card it was!

The wallet was fairly simple to make once I had measured around the chocolate bar and added the seams and then added some paper to the front of the wallet. I wrapped the choccy bar in co-ordinating papers and added a pc generated 'Sweet Treat' to it and wrapped around a polka ribbon. Then it was just a question of putting it on the card and embellishing. The papers are all My Minds Eye Wild Asparagus - very yummy papers!

And this little snippet is from a scrapbook page for a special little boy - not quite finished yet.

Well thats it for now xx

A altered tin, birdhouse, and a couple of vintage style cards

Well I've been busy crafting this week after a lovely little break in Whitby - was even eating fish and chips on the beach in Robin Hoods Bay!!! Lovely!!!!

To start off with Maz gave us a challenge - alter a cigar tin!!! Loved this one - could I have some more please!!! Knew as soon as I saw it what I was going to do with it. I turned it into a little book!!!

This is the tin front just covered with card and paper which was inked - the wording is just printed in MS Word. Added some flowers and leaves and a few sticky diamanties.

This is the tin opened - again covered in the same paper and inked. The flower image my hubby created for me from 2 images I found surfing the net - he merged them together in Adobe Photoshop - neat eh!

And this is the back of the tin - just card and paper inked around the edges. A ribbon tied around the middle and finished. You can see Sam's and Sue's here - all different and inspiring

This is the birdhouse I altered from ages ago - again check Sam's and Sue's blogs to see what they came up with. Mine was quite simply changed with card, paper and ribbon oh and some lace around the 'gables'.

Wednesday I was able to join Sue's class for the first time - we made vintage cards - my fave theme. This is the one I made there and...

...this one I made when I got home. Sue always inspires me!

Well thats it for tonight - hopefully I will be able to blog the rest of the crafty bits later in the week xx

Challenge 2 of Lets get shabby - Little Princesses scrapbook layout

I've decided to enter the Lets get Shabby challenge of floral and gingham! After seeing what the DT members have come up with - wow!!!! but still thought I'd have a go anyway ! !

The 3 girlies are our grandkids, Elie Mae, Daisy and Heidi. The papers used are K&Co:- all the crowns were drawn and cut freehand (you can't beat cutting with scissors :O), the flowers on the crown are made from lovehearts (of different sizes from the Fiskars heart template), all inked and scrunched up for that slight shabby look. The lettering is from the Cricut using the Story book cartridge and instead of using the letters I used the card from which the letters were cut (thought this was a little different). Some gingham ribbon was threaded through a piece of scalloped card (again cut with scissors), and some pearls and butterflies completed the page.
And this is it.

Unfortunately or Fortunately for me I have removed this photograph for potential publication.

Scrapbook page - Cutie pies

You know once you get an idea in your head - well this page was an idea I had last night and I worked on it til just after midnight - thank goodness I didn't have to get up for work today!!!!!

Its a photo of my 2 grandchildren Eli Mae and Daisy. The paper is from a K&Co paper pad which I bought from Tilly's in Immingham. Went for the first time last week and what a little treasure trove it is - full of shabby chic like items (my fave make of Melissa Frances adorned all the walls) - could have spent ages in there (and according to hubby - I did) !!!

See what I mean! Anyway back to the page - this is it.

The base page I did nothing to it but the page on top was just cut from a template I made, distressed with a thread cutter and inked with Vintage photo. The few v tears I made I just put some pink scrap paper behind it. The roses were made from lovehearts. I traced round several hearts from a Fiskars heart template and patiently cut each one out, inked, pierced a hole in the bottom of each of the hearts, inserted a brad and scrunched the whole thing up really roughly. I cut the butterfly out as well and the leaves were made with the leaf die cuts for the cuttlebug. This is a close up

The lettering is from the same pad as the paper - the little butterflies from a Martha Stewart punch and a few pink pearls added to the circle -and that's it. Working on yet another page very similar which I'm hoping to finish and blog tomorrow.

As you all know Sue and Paul became grandparents for the first time - and both very excited and proud - lovely to see. Made a matching card and door hanger again from Melissa Frances 'Alice' paper. The door hanger is made from very thick carboard 26 cms long by 9cms wide - a hole cut with a circle cutter and then just decorated. Trawled the net for ages looking for a baby and dog image and eventually found this.

Well that's it for now - have a good weekend x

A rather hefty post tonight - a bit of everything!!

Seems an absolute while since I posted - I really cant seem to find the time anymore like I used to. Don't know why!!! Oh well - these are the projects that I have been working on and finally finished.

I was asked to make an anniversary card for a friend at works wife - no details of colour, sentiment, shape or size!!! So I came up with this wallet style card

This is the front of the card with a little sleeve made to keep it closed

And this is the wallet opened

I had some little plastic envelope templates that I bought from Paper Paradise yonks ago and added an envelope and little card so he could write his own little message - they're on holiday this week so fingers crossed she likes it. Sure I'll find out soon enough if she doesn't!!!

I've also been working on a couple of scrapbook pages - this one was one of Steve when we went fishing in April - the cutting out of the wording took an absolute age - halfway through it I was beginning to think is it worth it! But I persevered and it came out alright.

GONE FISHING

This scrapbook page is of our lovely friends Sue and Paul - most Saturday nights you can find us in The Cricketers having a bite to eat, plenty of drink (well Steve and Paul anyway) and a good ole natter! I love this photo and was well chuffed to scan it and scrapbook it.

NEW FRIENDS

And not last but least, a little card and matching gift bag for my friend Kirsten at work whos birthday is it tomorrow.

Oh and I must just say Hi to my 2 friends at work who watch my blog - Ken and Chris. Walked into the security centre today and got a cuddle from both of them - 2 of the loveliest guys you could meet - very comical and very lovely - Hi Guys!!! :O)

Well thats it for tonight - just need to finish off my birdhouse, coat hanger, mirror and yet another wallet type card and I'm uptodate!!! See you soon xx
