Scrapbook page and a little card

Been a bit of a quiet weekend this weekend - hips been playing up so just been sat and playing. We were in Louth yesterday afternoon for a mooch after visiting Eli on her 6th birthday so we trawled some of the charity shops there!! Found a deep photo frame with a HORRENDOUS picture in it but Steve said it could be quite easily removed so thats my next project I think - a lovely 3d image using some stamps and distress inks.

But in the meantime I played with a photo of my lurvely daughter Viki - she's as bad as me for having photos taken - hates them but I managed to get this one of her last weekend. Wanted to use a layout that was quite fresh and as she loves bling I used this lovely diamante swirl that I bought from Running with Scissors a while ago.

Then I played with my copics and a Whiff of Joy stamp and made this little card. Got some Nestabilities at the weekend (bit of a raid at Running with Scissors)so tried them out too. Used some K&Co papers and distressed the edges with Antique Linen and ....

....even followed the theme through to the inside. And Sam ..... there's no pink (for once)!

Well thats it for me - just another pile of ironing to get through! Oh and finish my other project that I started today - cost all of £1.99 from Instore!

A bit of jewellery and some cards

Before I discovered card-making and just recently scrapbooking I actually used to make lampwork beads and jewellery. It must be nearly a year now since I've been in my little studio in the garden but as I got a request for a bracelet it was time to get out some beads and silver.

I even made the little box it went in!

Bought another Sarah Kay stamp yesterday so thought I would try it out so made a little card - and I know Sam is going to love it!!! Its PINK!!! again!!!

Now its time to watch House and get some ironing done ready for work tomorrow - luckily I've got Tuesday and Wednesday off - so watch out Sue - will be wanting loads of demos Tuesday morning x

A card for Copics Colour Challenge

Now that I've had some practice with my copics I thought it was about time I entered a copics card challenge. You had to use certain colours but if you didnt have the exact colours you used the closest available in your collection - the colours were a bluish, a yellowish and a pinkish. Just as I finished colouring in the skin - my copics pen ran out - damnit!! But at least I was able to complete it and here it is. x

My class of ONE!!!!

Kate (downrightcrafty) came round last night for a couple of hours to craft. So in the afternoon I made this card up - used a few different but simple techniques. I then laid out all the materials and card like it was a proper class (and as Sue would say - lets crack on - we've got a lot to get through this evening!!! :O). And we did!!

I enjoyed it and neither of us made any mistakes - usually when sat near each other one makes a mistake and the other one follows!! Kate varied hers slightly see here and we even had time for a quick Copic session (Kate has more Copics than me :O( but as its my birthday soon I reckon hubby will fill the gaps in my little container) and I even kept the worksurface clean and tidy - UNHEARD OF usually) . Thanks for coming round Kate - I really enjoyed it Bye for now

A card for a cake!

About time I made a 'normal' card for a change and a cake was just what was needed. A lovely lady called Sarah works in the site restaurant and asked me to make her a wedding card - so.....I asked her to make me a cake!!! (she's well renowned for lovely cakes). She got the card which she loved and I got TWO cakes and they were absolutely yummy - gingercake and plumcake MMmmmmm - I have such a sweet tooth its unbelievable. Just wanted to say thank you to her so I thought I'd make her a card.

It came together quite easily - think it was the verse that helped. The verse was stamped onto a inked background, a scroll stamp was used on K&Co paper, used a border punch and added a few flowers and a piece of ribbon. I shall give it to her tomorrow - just hope she wants some more cards in the future as I definitely would like MORE cake!!! Bye for now x

Clock Challenge

Well, if you've already been over to Sue's blog than you know what a fantastic job she has done in creating a gorgeous piece of work with just a cd and a clock movement! Well, this is mine!!! and at least my little grand-daughter Elie Mae will like it! Its actually cream and red but think I've taken the picture too late!

Since buying some copic pens and some Whiff of Joy stamps plus attending Bev Rochesters class I seem to have caught a cutsie bug!!! Even my cards have gone all cute!!!

Up to now not seen Sams clock on her blog but follow this link for some real inspirational goodies to look at.

Photo Frame for a friends wedding present

Bought this frame a while ago and was keeping it for a rainy day but as a couple of work colleagues were getting married I thought I would decorate it just for them. Alex's wedding dress at the back was all laced up so I thought I would recreate this effect on the frame. Took a while but I think it works well. All the flowers used on the frame were cut from scrapbook paper and placed flat or raised to create a 3d effect. That was it really - quite a cheap creation really - cost less than £10 all in!!

Just trying to make some cards now in the style that we were shown at the demo on Sunday at The Hobby House in Tetney so hopefully I will blog these shortly. Bye for now x
