A Bit of Vintage

I have put away my 'cute' stamps for a while. I was looking at all my stash last night - I have quite a bit and ashamed to say stash that I just haven't used. I'll go in the craft room intending to do something constructive and after 2 hours of being in there - I have nothing completed because I've found something I forgot I had bought and start playing with that. So my mid-year resolution is - go in there and concentrate!!! (Yeah right) :O)

Anyway this is one card that I have completed. Steve bought me this round the edge punch and because its so like my doily punch it has fast become my fave! It's fab! In fact I have made 4 cards over the last couple of nights and all 4 have this punch used on it. :O) The sentiment is one that I tend to use for Mothers Day cards but I really like it just because. The paper is.... hmmm not sure :O) , the flowers (pink vellum) and leaves (cardstock) were from EK punches. All the burgundy pearls used on the card are from The Hobby House. And here it is...

Off to concentrate now on Our Vintage Affair challenge which starts in a couple of days and guess what - not quite finished it yet :O)

Lets Get Shabby - Easter

For some reason I thought I had another week left to enter the Lets Get Shabby challenge of Easter - DOH - don't quite know why - its actually tonight I think and I may even be too late (not that thats a bad thing - rushed this and really not happy with it at all :O(

I made a little rectangle case in yellow cardstock, added yellow gingham paper which was inked lightly with Walnut Stain, added some white lace, yellow and white ribbons, and a yellow rose and rosebuds were added as the main decoration. The eggs were covered in white organza and tied with yellow ribbon, added some beaded sprigs and a little yellow rose. The eggs were meant to be chocolate eggs but ... I'd ate them a few days ago thinking I had time to replace them and I wonder why my butt is getter bigger!!! Well here it is (cringe)

A very hasty goodnight from me

Only 7 days left to join in the Vintage Shoe challenge

The Vintage Shoe challenge over on A Vintage Affair finishes in 7 days so as a reminder I've made another pair to show :O)

I've used K&Co Madeline paper, organza ribbon, lace and a little flower - I've been asked to make a pair in cream and burgundy for a wedding in June as a little gift from a little bridesmaid to the bride so will have to make a gift box too

Hope you have had a good weekend

New Tilda - Once upon a time

This card uses 2 of the new Tildas from the new stamp collection - love them all this time - was a little disappointed with the last ones.

Paper is from my stash which I've just distressed, the castle window has been inked on a separate piece and stickled, Tilda has been coloured in with Distress Inks, flowers are from a EK Success Flower punch and leaves from a Sizzix leaf die. That's it :O)

Heidi scrap page & new Tilda stamps but .....

This page is from a day out taken at Hubbards Hills with all 3 grandkiddies using a sketch from the lovely site StuckonUsketches. Since I'm going to do a page on each of them and as usual missed the deadline for joining in - will have to speed up in future - getting pretty rubbish at completing challenges!!

I've used paper bought from Running with Scissors - My Mind's Eye and they are just beautiful! I've added some K&Co white rub-ons on a couple of the corners, just inked the papers with Walnut Stain, flowers were EK Success punch and branches were from a Sizzix Die, some ribbon and lace and here it is.... (and no doily punch effect)!!!

And guess what I received in the post - the next batch of Tilda stamps and these are just adorable.

But guess what I have NOT got in my stash - Easi-Mount!!! That was what I went to get last week from Running with Scissors and forgot - jeez couldn't I just slap myself!!! Oh well - will have to pop in on my afternoon off but sooooo want to ink them up NOW!!!!!! Double Drat!!!!!

Live, Laugh, Love - Scrap layout of my daughter Viki

This is a scrap page that I've been working on for quite a few nights now :O) - I'm indecisive ;O) and slow :O)!!!!

I love these photos of my daughter Viki and everytime I look at them I just think of Live, Laugh, Love so that's what I've used as the title page.

Papers are K&CO which have been distressed and inked with Walnut Stain, the large oval was handcut and the scalloped edging behind that is actually small 1" circles taped behind it. The lace I've had in my stash for yonks and white pearls were added at each of the lace peaks! The branches are from a Sissix die used in the cuttlebug and the flowers and butterflies are from dies similar to the Nestabilities but not :O) - not sure who they were by (anything new and the packaging comes off and in the bin within seconds) - they were lightly sanded for a shabby-like look and here it is. This was a sketch I followed by the very talented Alda Stevens/ Flying Unicorn - this is one very attractive and inspiring blog so if you have time its well worth visiting.

And here it is..

Thats definitely my last post for today - thanks for looking Polly xx

Friday Sketch Challenge - Tilda card

Had a fantastic few days in Whitby - even the odd shower didn't spoil our enjoyment of a 12 mile hike from Ravenscar to Robin Hoods Bay and back - boy did our bodies ache the next day though!!

Not at work this week so getting a few challenges completed well before the finishing time. This card is for the Friday Sketchers challenge which was to follow a lovely sketch.

All the papers used are from Papermania Rose Garden paper pack and all have been distressed, inked with Walnut Stain and punched with my fave ever Doily punched!!!! The branches are a sissix die and the flowers from a EK Success flower punch. Tilda has been coloured with Ranger Distress Inkpads using the new Victorian Velvet. And here it is ......

Had a little spending spree at Running with Scissors this morning with Sue so off now to play with my gorgeous papers!

Oooh hosting my first challenge over at A Vintage Affair - so wanted the first challenge to be a little different so we're doing.... Vintage Shoes!!

I first saw these little gems whilst visiting Teri at Artful Afirmations and just fell in love with them. Teri has a video tutorial and template that is so easy to follow and she has emailed me to let me know we can use here on A Vintage Affair.

Here are my first pair measuring just under 8 inches :O)

Well I do hope you will join in with the challenge

Have a lovely Easter
